1.48. Car towage
THE GENERAL DATA

Always take with itself in road a towing cable. It is recommended to use a cable from an artificial fibre or a similar elastic material.

The prevention

Крепите a towing cable only for special eyes. Include the light alarm system according to traffic Rules.

If tow your car with the idle engine, insert a key into the switch (lock) of ignition and include ignition for antijoy ride device deenergizing (at all do not switch off ignition, the steering column differently can be blocked).

At the idle engine you should brake with the big effort as the vacuum amplifier does not work. If the engine is serviceable, start up it that the amplifier of brakes operated, the storage battery was not discharged and it was possible to take advantage of a heater during cold time.

Watch signals of the towing car. Try to support constantly a cable in the tense condition, braking the car. If you the car tow other car, provide at трогании from a place a gradual tension of a towing cable (visually by means of a rear-view mirror and on increase in loading at the engine) and only then smoothly increase speed of movement. Do not suppose sharp accelerations, braking and turns. Keep the right number and needlessly do not change a lane. Earlier, than usually, include turn indexes. Do not exceed the speed of towage specified in Rules of traffic.

FORWARD TOWING EYE

The forward towing eye demountable, is stored in a tool box.

Removal and installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. By means of a screw-driver wring out two clamps (places of their arrangement are specified by arrows) the right ventilating lattice 1 (since the clamp nearest to the centre) and remove a lattice from the forward buffer 2.
. 2. Screw an eye 1 in an axis 3. Insert, for example, an assembly shovel in an aperture of an eye and tighten an eye (2 – the forward buffer).
3. After towage of the car to destination remove an eye 1, put it in a tool box and establish a ventilating lattice, reliably having fixed it in the forward buffer.

BACK TOWING EYE

 The back towing eye 1 is located under the back buffer 2 on the left side.
