7.3.8. Check and adjustment of corners of installation of wheels

THE GENERAL DATA

Adjustment of disorder of forward wheels

Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels

Adjustment of corners of installation of wheels is recommended to be carried out at servicing deport.

Corners of installation of wheels should be regulated, if following details acted in film:

 – The lever of a forward suspension bracket;
 – A rotary fist;
 – Steering draught or a tip of steering draught;
 – The steering mechanism;
 – A beam of a forward suspension bracket;
 – A rack of a forward suspension bracket;
 – An arm of a beam of a forward suspension bracket;
 – The stabilizer of cross-section stability;
 – The back bridge.

Adjustment carry out:

 – At a serviceable steering and a running gear;
 – At normal pressure of air in tyres;

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels

Convergence of forward wheels regulate change of length of steering draughts. At wheel adjustment should be established in position of rectilinear movement (the tab. Corners of installation of forward wheels see).

– The radius of turn of the car on the left differs from turn radius to the right.

1. Turn a steering wheel in extreme position at first in one, and then in other party and measure distance and (fig. Check of an angle of rotation of forward wheels see) for the right and left wheel. 1. Measure a convergence of the right and left back wheels. 2. Calculate a deviation. If identical signs (positive have value of a convergence of the right and left wheels or negative), it is necessary from большего to subtract values smaller and to halve. For example: a convergence of the left wheel +15 `, the right wheel +5 `, then (15 - 5) / 2=5. Means, a deviation of the back bridge equally 5 `.
